I am a photographer based in Vancouver BC. I am inspired by film noir, classic figure photography (Frantiek Drtikol, Edward Weston, Helmut Newton) and Hollywood portraiture (George Hurrell, et al.)
I used to shoot a lot of film and polaroids and spent many hours in the darkroom and a lot of time and $ waiting for slides but have now fully embraced (for better or worse) the digital realm. I am hoping to one day find the time (and $) to delve back into analogue chemical photography, probably in the form of wet plate collodion or some other incredibly toxic process. I admire the dedication of those who work with what are now seriously arcane but ever so beautiful processes. I really wish I had the time but music is my true calling and so it will have to wait until I can take an early retirement and build a shed in which to play with this stuff.
I am always interested in working with new models from beginners to professionals. If you are in, near or visiting the Vancouver area get in touch if you would like to work together. I prefer open, collaborative sessions and welcome and respect creativity and improvisation.
